Call2Recycle launched “Recycle Your Vapes” in January 2025, a new vape collection and recycling program in Quebec, unique in Canada. Laurentide, through its subsidiary Laurentide Environnement, is collaborating as a sorting and recycling partner.
The program ensures that these devices—many of which contain increasingly complex batteries—are collected and recycled responsibly. Once the batteries and other components, such as pods and cartridges, have been collected at drop-off points, they will be sent to Laurentide Environment’s Battery Recovery and Processing plant in Shawinigan. There, they will be sorted and responsibly processed, and all recoverable materials will be reclaimed.
