Société Laurentide places great importance on the health of its employees. One of the ways of demonstrating this is by putting in place, the Get into action for a Balanced Life program. The second edition of this program was recently presented to employees in Shawinigan and at the Victoriaville plant.
The program consists of three sporting events among co-workers. Employees who wish to get into action will be able to take part in the Boomerang bike ride on Saturday, June 8th (50 or 120 km), a walk challenge at Shawinigan’s I’le de Melville park on Saturday, July 13th (4 to 15 km) and/or a running challenge (8km), an exclusivity for Société Laurentide, as part of Les Défis du Parc and Les Roses program, at the National Park in Saint-Jean-des-Piles on Sunday, September 8th.
To prepare for these events, Défis du parc’s, Marie-Josée Gervais, designed a training program specifically for Société Laurentide employees. Beginning in February, using quarterly programs, Laurentians will have cardio and strength training goals, in addition to sporadic 21-day challenges, which will lead them to surpass themselves everyday!
With the training program, scheduled health and food conferences, as well as walking and running outings at lunchtime, Laurentide employees will be equipped to take on one or more challenges of their choice!
The registration period is currently underway. Last year, 70 of the 200 employees took part in this program. This second edition will undoubtedly also be a success!
Don’t be surprised to see walkers, runners or cyclists dressed in Société Laurentide’s colours, in the streets of Shawinigan and Victoriaville in the up and coming months!
